ODD GRANLID

Odd Granlid (born 1953) is a Swedish horsetrainer, farrier and sculptor. OG has a life­long experience with horses; as child in the countrylife of the time with drafthorses; as young man working with racehorses; and with stallions at the Swedish national stud Flyinge; as horsetrainer in the cavalry; as horsetrainer and farrier in his own business; and more. Though – mostly known to most people is OG due to his work as chief farrier and teacher at the Flyinge horsecenter in Sweden for many years.

 

OG:s interest in the field of art resulted by time in his own sculpting, in attempt to unite experience of horses and sence of form to create expressive sculptures, mererly of horsemotif in classic style, but also moving to other motifs and various styles and expressions.

 

All sculptures presented at this site are originals crafted by Odd Granlid; most of them in stoneware ceramics. The sculpures are in various sizes from ca 20 – 60 cm hight. Some of the sculptures can also be available in bronze by request. Then as a single bronze cast or produced in smaller series.
